Zulum Seeks Technology, Education And Investment Partnerships in Canada

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has arrived in Canada for engagements aimed at attracting partnerships in technology, education, agriculture, skills development and investment.

The visit is intended to connect Borno with Canadian universities, technology hubs, research institutions and investors.

According to the governor’s media team, discussions will focus on technical support, knowledge transfer and foreign direct investment.

Zulum is expected to explore scholarship opportunities for Borno students and partnerships that could expand vocational training.

The state is also seeking collaboration with Canadian technology companies to improve digital literacy and establish innovation hubs in Maiduguri.

The technology component is intended to create new pathways for youth employment and entrepreneurship.

Agricultural discussions are expected to focus on food security, livestock production, research and value-chain development.

The government will also present Borno’s investment opportunities to prospective Canadian investors before the visit concludes.

The mission comes as the state continues to rebuild after years of disruption caused by insurgency.

Borno has increasingly emphasized education, vocational training, agriculture and private investment as part of its longer-term recovery strategy.

The proposed partnerships are expected to support institutional rebuilding, human-capital development and economic diversification.
