Worden HCD Limited has trained 1,330 unemployed and underemployed young people across Lagos State in vocational, entrepreneurship and financial management skills under its Youth Innovation, Enterprise and Livelihood Development project, aimed at improving employability and encouraging business creation.

The four week programme, delivered in partnership with Access Bank and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Wealth Creation and Employment, combined technical training in fields including solar installation, CCTV installation, fashion design and crocheting with instruction in financial literacy, business planning, branding and digital tools.

Worden HCD Chief Operating Officer Abasi Ifreke Brendan described the programme as an investment in producing entrepreneurs capable of creating jobs rather than simply seeking them, saying it was designed to give participants the confidence and business knowledge needed to build sustainable enterprises. She said the initiative shows what becomes possible when government, the private sector and development organisations work together with a shared vision.

Senior Special Assistant Tijani Saheed Oluwadare commended the partnership, saying investment in practical skills and enterprise development aligns with the Lagos State government’s commitment to creating pathways for employment and wealth creation among young people.
