A United States Air Force C-17 aircraft has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of an ongoing defence partnership between the United States and Nigeria.
The delivery, which took place last weekend, was announced by the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) in a post on X, describing the development as a demonstration of the growing security cooperation between both countries.
AFRICOM said the equipment was delivered under a Foreign Military Sales agreement aimed at strengthening the U.S.-Nigeria defence partnership and supporting efforts to counter terrorism and other security threats in the region.
“Partnership in action,” AFRICOM said while announcing the delivery.
The latest development underscores the increasing military and security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, particularly in addressing terrorism and other emerging security challenges across the region.
The equipment is expected to further support the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Air Force as both countries deepen their collaboration on regional security and counterterrorism efforts.
