Trump Warns Iran to Accept Peace Deal or Face ‘Nothing Left’

Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, urging Tehran to move swiftly toward a peace agreement amid ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.

In a post published Sunday on his Truth Social platform, Trump warned that time was running out for the Iranian government.

“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them,” Trump wrote. “TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”

The renewed warning comes as Washington remains locked in a prolonged conflict with Tehran following major strikes launched by US and Israeli forces against Iran beginning on February 28.

Efforts to secure a broader peace agreement have so far failed to produce a breakthrough, with tensions continuing to destabilise the Middle East and drive global energy concerns.

The conflict has effectively disrupted movement through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route through which roughly 20 percent of the world’s oil exports pass during peacetime.

Regional tensions have also intensified along the Israel-Lebanon border, where clashes involving the Iran-backed Hezbollah have continued despite ceasefire arrangements.

An Israeli military official said Hezbollah launched about 200 projectiles at Israeli targets over the weekend, even after Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend a ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s health ministry reported that fresh Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Sunday killed five people, including two children.

According to Lebanese authorities, more than 2,900 people have been killed in Lebanon since the conflict escalated, including about 400 deaths recorded after the ceasefire began on April 17.

Iran Says US Offer Lacks Concessions

Negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain stalled despite a temporary truce reached on April 8.

Iranian media on Sunday accused the United States of failing to offer meaningful concessions during the latest round of discussions.

The semi-official Fars News Agency reported that Washington presented a five-point proposal demanding that Iran maintain only one operational nuclear facility while transferring its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the United States.

The report also claimed the US refused to release a significant portion of Iran’s frozen overseas assets or provide compensation for damage caused during the conflict.

Another Iranian outlet, Mehr News Agency, said the American proposal risked pushing negotiations into a deadlock.

“The United States, offering no tangible concessions, wants to obtain concessions that it failed to obtain during the war,” the agency stated.

Regional Tensions Persist

Elsewhere in the region, authorities in United Arab Emirates said a drone strike caused a fire near a nuclear power facility in Abu Dhabi, though officials reported no casualties or radiation impact.

Iran-backed armed groups operating in Iraq and Yemen’s Houthis are known to possess combat drones, raising fears of a wider regional escalation.

Pakistan has continued diplomatic efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States. Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, met in Tehran on Sunday with Iranian parliament speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Following the meeting, Ghalibaf criticised the role of the United States and Israel in the conflict, saying their actions had contributed to instability across the Middle East.

“Some governments in the region believed that the presence of the United States would bring them security, but recent events showed that this presence is not only incapable of providing security, but also creates the grounds for insecurity,” he said.

Trump also discussed Iran during a recent summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, although no major diplomatic breakthrough was announced.

According to Trump, Xi assured him that China was not preparing military support for Iran, while China’s foreign ministry later called for regional shipping routes to be reopened as quickly as possible.
