Tinubu Urges Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim to Stay Focused in UN Assignment

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, to remain focused in his role and avoid distractions, while receiving a delegation from the research group Aseyori Tinubu led by Ibrahim at the State House in Abuja.

The president praised Ibrahim’s performance at the UN as impressive given the short time in the role, and urged him to keep working toward securing Nigeria a permanent seat at the international body. Tinubu told the delegation the country’s economy has passed its most difficult period and is now on a path of recovery, citing progress including expanded student loan disbursements funded partly through recovered assets and improving security, while encouraging the research group to continue producing findings that strengthen Nigeria politically and economically.

Ibrahim credited the president’s leadership for improving Nigeria’s global standing and attracting new foreign investment, crediting the support he has received from the presidency for his progress at the UN, and reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing a seat for Nigeria on the UN Security Council.
