President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for delivering access roads and engineering infrastructure to the 3,112 unit Renewed Hope City in Karsana, Abuja.

Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, spoke during the inauguration of the 10.5 kilometre road network serving the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates in Karsana West District.

The President said the roads were a direct response to his instruction that the housing estate must not be left without access and supporting infrastructure. He said civil servants, families and investors cannot be expected to live in homes they cannot reach.

According to him, the completed project links Karsana West to the Outer Northern Expressway through Arterial Roads N11, N16, N40 and Special Important Local Street 03, making the estate accessible, liveable and secure.

Tinubu said the project marked a break from the old story of awarded but abandoned contracts in the capital city. He praised Wike for treating deadlines as duties and for measuring contractors by results rather than promises.

The President also commended the Minister of State for the FCT, Mariya Mahmoud, engineers and officials of the FCT Administration for ensuring that the project was completed according to specification.

Wike said Karsana was difficult to access when the President performed the groundbreaking for the housing project in 2024. He said developers had raised concerns that their investments could be stranded without access roads.

Mahmoud described the project as another milestone under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that it would improve connectivity, stimulate economic activity and expand access to affordable housing. She urged residents and stakeholders to protect the infrastructure for present and future generations.
