President Bola Tinubu has invited Nigerian and international investors to consider 65 proposed projects valued at $78.5 billion, while welcoming a World Bank Group initiative aimed at mobilizing as much as $5.79 billion in private financing for Nigeria.
The president presented the proposals as part of his administration’s effort to attract capital, expand productive activity and create employment, with agriculture and digital infrastructure among the sectors highlighted for potential financing.
In a message on his verified social media account, Tinubu said economic reforms were intended to establish a more dependable foundation for investment and provide more Nigerians with opportunities to earn a living. He described the World Bank Group initiative as complementary to the government’s private-sector growth agenda.
The larger project pipeline was presented at a Nigeria Investors Forum held alongside the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok. According to the account, Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele and Central Bank Governor Olayemi Cardoso introduced the opportunities to investors and financial institutions.
Tinubu directed prospective investors to the government’s Projects Nigeria platform, where sponsors and project information could be examined. He pledged administrative cooperation to address obstacles preventing commercially viable proposals from moving into implementation.
The announced dollar figures represent proposed financing and investment opportunities, not evidence that the full amounts have been disbursed or committed. Actual economic benefits will depend on project preparation, investor due diligence, financing agreements, regulatory approvals and execution.
The government says the initiative is designed to help businesses expand, stimulate job creation and reduce barriers to private capital. Investors will nevertheless assess project-level risk, expected returns and the credibility of implementation arrangements before committing funds.
