President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on reaching 25 years of uninterrupted service as a head of government.
In a goodwill message, Tinubu described Modi’s political journey as a remarkable achievement in democratic leadership, noting that the Indian leader first assumed office as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, before becoming Prime Minister in 2014.
The Nigerian president commended Modi’s contributions to India’s economic growth, digital transformation, financial inclusion and infrastructure development.
Tinubu also highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between Nigeria and India, recalling Modi’s state visit to Abuja in November 2024 during which he was conferred with the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

He expressed confidence that relations between Nigeria and India would continue to grow stronger under Modi’s leadership.
