President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf nations affected by the ongoing tensions linked to the U.S.–Israel conflict with Iran.
Speaking at the State House in Abuja during a ceremony to receive Letters of Credence from newly appointed envoys, the president commended the countries for their restraint and resilience in the face of recent attacks, stressing Nigeria’s commitment to global peace and stability.
Tinubu extended solidarity to several nations in the region, including Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan, emphasising that Nigeria stands for peace, cooperation, and international harmony.
“The world needs tranquillity, peace and love. Nigeria will always strive to promote stability across regions,” the president said.
During the event, Tinubu received diplomatic representatives from multiple countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, Argentina, and the Republic of Congo. He urged the envoys to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation with Nigeria across key sectors.

The president noted that Nigeria remains committed to building strong international partnerships, guided by its foreign policy objectives aimed at fostering economic growth, investment, and sustainable development.
He highlighted ongoing reforms by his administration to position Nigeria as a competitive global investment destination, encouraging the diplomats to explore opportunities beyond the capital and engage with the country’s diverse economic and cultural landscape.
Tinubu also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to regional stability under the framework of the Economic Community of West African States, particularly in addressing security challenges and promoting democratic governance across West Africa.
He stressed that global challenges such as climate change, terrorism, and economic inequality require collective action, adding that Nigeria is ready to collaborate with international partners to build a more secure and equitable world.
Responding on behalf of the diplomatic corps, Qatar’s ambassador expressed appreciation for the reception and pledged to strengthen ties between their respective countries and Nigeria during their tenure.
