Sule Lamido’s Son Picks PDP Form for Jigawa Governorship Race

Mustapha Sule Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, has entered the 2027 governorship contest after obtaining the Peoples Democratic Party nomination form in Dutse, declaring his candidacy before party leaders and supporters and expressing confidence that the PDP remained the most credible and capable platform to address the state’s socioeconomic challenges.

Lamido, a card-carrying PDP member who said he had completed all necessary consultations with party stakeholders before formalizing his intention, positioned himself as a champion of the party’s philosophy and a defender of its legacy of people-oriented governance in Jigawa State.

He argued that no party that succeeded the PDP in power had matched its record of delivering tangible development to the people, describing the performance of subsequent administrations at the national level as a comprehensive failure. He appealed to party members across the state to rally behind his candidacy ahead of the 2027 polls and pledged to uphold the party’s core values of patriotism and service if given the mandate to govern.
