The Southern Senators’ Forum has paid tribute to elder statesman and Afenifere leader Reuben Fasoranti following reports of his death at the age of 100.
In a condolence statement issued by its chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the forum described Fasoranti as a principled advocate of democracy, justice and responsible leadership whose public life influenced generations of Nigerians.
The senators extended condolences to his family, the Afenifere socio-political organization, the Ondo State Government and people across the country who were affected by his work in education and public affairs.
They said his advocacy for fairness, democratic accountability and mutual respect offered lessons for public officeholders and urged Nigerians to preserve those values.
The statement also expressed sympathy with his loved ones and prayed for the repose of his soul.
