Soludo Calls on Women and Youths to Mobilize Southeast Votes for Tinubu’s Second Term

Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has called on women coordinators of the City Boy Movement, a political group supporting President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid, to mobilize resources and build the electoral structures needed to deliver meaningful support from the South-east in 2027, saying the region’s failure to contribute significantly to Tinubu’s 2023 victory had cost it leverage in the federal government.

Speaking at the Anambra State Government House in Awka, Soludo said his administration was intentionally focused on fostering greater participation of women and youth in governance and that the movement’s activities had already demonstrated the capacity to drive active political engagement. He said the movement’s role in coordinating for Anambra State required clarity of purpose and a focus on maximizing benefits for the people.

He urged women coordinators to ensure that their objective in politics was to secure tangible benefits for society rather than mere participation, and said he would back the group’s initiatives with full and absolute support.

The Women Coordinator of the Anambra State chapter of the group, Mrs. Adaora Soludo, said the movement’s primary objective was to promote and support the Tinubu administration, and that the group was positioned to serve as a bridge between government and the people, ensuring that development policies were felt at the local level.
