Singer D4vd Detained in Teen Death Probe, Denies Involvement

US singer D4vd has been arrested by authorities in connection with the death of a teenage girl, in a case that has drawn significant public attention.

The 21-year-old artist, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was taken into custody following a grand jury investigation into the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was reported missing last year.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Burke is currently being held without bail, with the case expected to be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for further review.

Authorities said the investigation intensified after the teenager’s remains were discovered in September in a vehicle linked to the singer. The vehicle, a Tesla registered to an address associated with Burke in Texas, was found at a tow yard in Hollywood after reports of a foul odour.

Court documents indicate that investigators recovered decomposed human remains inside a cadaver bag located in the front trunk of the car, prompting a full homicide investigation.

However, Burke’s legal team has strongly denied the allegations, insisting that their client was not responsible for the teenager’s death.

“Let us be clear, actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” his lawyers said in a statement.

They further noted that no formal charges have yet been filed, adding that no indictment has been issued by a grand jury at this stage.

“There has been no indictment returned and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion,” the statement added.

Police had earlier indicated that the arrest was made on suspicion of murder, though investigators have not publicly disclosed further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.

The case has continued to raise questions since the discovery of the remains on September 8, with authorities working to establish a timeline of events and determine the cause of death.

Officials say further updates are expected as the case progresses and is reviewed by prosecutors.
