Senator Nwoko Demands APC Leadership Protect His Primary Win Against Okowa’s Challenge

Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko has called on the All Progressives Congress national leadership to protect the mandate party members gave him in the senatorial primary, warning that any attempt to overturn the outcome in favor of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa would amount to a betrayal of party members’ democratic rights and could damage the APC’s fortunes across the district.

In a statement issued by his Media Office, Nwoko said he won the APC Senatorial Primary Election across Delta North by a wide margin, securing approximately 123,000 votes against Okowa’s 6,000, and that he had video evidence from 97 of the 98 wards to support that outcome. He described Okowa’s reported declaration of victory as a self-imposed and propagandist claim that violated established party procedures, noting that the authority to collate, authenticate, and declare results rested solely with appropriate organs of the APC national leadership.

He accused opponents of promoting manufactured and dubious figures and questioned whether independently authenticated video recordings from 98 wards were less credible than figures allegedly concocted by a panel appointed by a governor openly working for Okowa.

Nwoko urged the National Working Committee to ensure that justice was done and seen to be done by respecting the integrity of the primary election process, warning that substituting genuine votes with invented results would represent an unresisted act of callousness against the thousands of APC members who participated in the exercise.
