Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented ₦3.1 billion in compensation to 331 property owners whose lands and buildings were acquired for major infrastructure projects across Badagry, Epe, Ikorodu, Igbogbo and Ogba.

The governor said the compensation underscores his administration’s commitment to fairness, accountability and due process as it continues to expand critical infrastructure across the state.

According to Sanwo-Olu, all compensation claims were carefully verified to ensure that only legitimate property owners received their entitlements.

He acknowledged the sacrifices made by affected residents, noting that behind every acquired property is a family, home or business whose livelihood is impacted.

“While these projects will benefit millions of Lagosians, I do not take the sacrifice of those who made them possible for granted,” the governor said.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that his administration remains committed to balancing infrastructure development with the protection of citizens’ rights, adding that the compensation exercise reflects the government’s promise to govern with fairness and transparency.

The governor reaffirmed that the ongoing road and public infrastructure projects are aimed at improving connectivity, easing transportation and supporting economic growth across Lagos State while ensuring that affected residents receive fair compensation.
