Samia Suluhu, Dangote Hold Talks on Africa’s Industrialisation and Energy Future

President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the Tanzania has held high-level discussions with Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, on strategies to advance industrialisation, energy infrastructure and long-term economic development across Africa.

The discussions focused on key areas including regional energy security, refining capacity, infrastructure expansion and the importance of strengthening local production capabilities across the continent.

The meeting comes at a time when many African nations are intensifying efforts to reduce dependence on imports, improve domestic manufacturing capacity and expand critical infrastructure needed to support economic growth.

Stakeholders at the meeting highlighted the growing importance of collaboration between African governments and major industrial institutions in driving sustainable development and economic resilience.

According to discussions at the engagement, stronger partnerships in the energy and industrial sectors are expected to play a major role in boosting regional trade, improving job creation and accelerating Africa’s broader economic transformation agenda.

Dangote Industries reiterated its commitment to supporting Africa’s industrial growth through long-term investments, large-scale infrastructure projects and expanded production capacity aimed at strengthening regional development.

The company noted that strategic investments in refining, manufacturing and infrastructure remain essential to improving energy access and enhancing the continent’s competitiveness in the global economy.
