Russian Missile, Drone Strikes Kill Seven, Injure Dozens Across Ukraine

At least seven people were killed and more than two dozen others injured on Monday after Russia launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials.

Five of the fatalities were recorded in the central city of Dnipro, where a Russian missile struck a private business, while two others were killed in a drone attack targeting a city bus in the southern city of Zaporizhzhia.

Authorities in Dnipro said 28 people were injured in the missile strike, with four victims reported to be in critical condition.

Regional Governor Oleksandr Ganzha said many of the injured suffered traumatic brain injuries, shrapnel wounds, fractures, and blast-related trauma.

Images released by Ukrainian police showed emergency responders treating wounded civilians at the scene of the attack.

In Zaporizhzhia, regional officials said a drone strike hit a passenger minibus, blowing out its windows and rear doors. Photographs from the scene showed the damaged vehicle following the attack.

The latest bombardment comes as both Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify aerial assaults amid stalled diplomatic efforts to end the more than four-year conflict.

Dnipro, a major industrial centre located about 100 kilometres from the front line, has been repeatedly targeted by Russian forces since the war began.

Zaporizhzhia, situated approximately 30 kilometres from active fighting, is the administrative centre of a region that Russia claims to have annexed but has not fully brought under its control.

The renewed attacks underscore the continued escalation of hostilities as both sides exchange long-range missile and drone strikes while negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire remain deadlocked.
