PSG Retain Champions League Crown After Penalty Shootout Victory Over Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain successfully defended their UEFA Champions League title on Saturday, defeating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in a dramatic final in Budapest.

The French champions became only the second club to retain the trophy in the Champions League era following a tense contest that was decided from the spot after neither side could find a winner in regulation time.

Arsenal made a bright start and took the lead through Kai Havertz, who found the net early in the match to give the Premier League side the advantage.

PSG responded in the second half when Ousmane Dembele converted a penalty to level the score and set up a thrilling finish.

With the teams locked at 1-1 after normal time, the final was decided by a penalty shootout.

PSG held their nerve from the spot, while Arsenal were left to rue costly misses from Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Paris club converted four of their penalties to seal a 4-3 shootout victory and secure back-to-back European crowns.

The triumph further cements PSG’s status among Europe’s elite clubs and marks another historic milestone for the French side, who have now successfully defended the continent’s most prestigious club football trophy.
