The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has ratified Sunday Garba Biggs as its consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election, with delegates from all 17 local government areas endorsing him at a gathering in Jos that featured elders, stakeholders, youth groups, women leaders, and the symbolic handover of the party flag.

Biggs, a former senior government official and previous governorship aspirant, accepted the endorsement with what he described as mixed emotions, acknowledging the honour while reflecting on the weight of the responsibility it represented.

He described the ratification as a triumph of unity, dialogue, and shared purpose, and said the occasion was not about personal victory but about what he called the collective resolve of a party that had demonstrated it remained deeply rooted in the state.

He said the mandate that had previously been given to the PDP in Plateau State but subsequently taken away was something he believed the people were ready to restore, and called on citizens to rally behind the party in the coming election cycle.
