The Nyesom Wike-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has criticized former Deputy National Chairman Bode George over recent public criticism of the party’s leadership, accusing him of attempting to undermine the current leadership.
In a statement, the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, described George’s recent television interview as reflecting frustration over the party’s move beyond an era when a small group of influential figures determined its direction, arguing that George’s comments fell short of the restraint expected of an elder statesman. The party defended factional National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed, saying he has provided inclusive and transparent leadership despite inheriting significant political and legal challenges.
