All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji has met President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja as the party continues reviewing the outcome of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, told journalists after the closed door meeting that the APC had not reached a final decision on its next step.
He lost the election to incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.
Oyebamiji said the party was examining the results and other aspects of the election before making its position public.
He did not specify whether the review could lead to a legal challenge or another formal response.
The APC candidate urged supporters to remain calm and said peace should remain the overriding consideration regardless of whatever decision the party eventually reached.
Oyebamiji also raised concerns about alleged attacks on APC members after the election.
He claimed that four or five people were attacked in his hometown, Ikire, and said security agencies had been informed.
Those allegations were not independently established in the source material.
Oyebamiji appealed to Governor Adeleke to urge his supporters to avoid violence and said political competition should not undermine peace in Osun.
He repeatedly told APC members to remain peaceful while the review continued.
The meeting with Tinubu came a day after Adeleke also met the President at the State House.
Adeleke had thanked Tinubu for what he described as the President’s commitment to a free and fair electoral process.
The APC is expected to announce its position after completing its assessment of the poll.
