Oluremi Tinubu Honours Wike for Environmental Sustainability Efforts in Abuja

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has presented a Certificate of Commendation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in recognition of the FCT Administration’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the transformation of Abuja’s City Gate into a model green and recreational space.

The presentation took place at the State House in Abuja as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Green Nigeria Challenge, a programme aimed at promoting cleaner, greener and healthier communities across the country.

Speaking during the event, the First Lady commended the FCT Administration for its efforts in enhancing the environmental landscape of the nation’s capital, describing the City Gate transformation as a significant contribution to sustainable urban development.

The ceremony was attended by the Wife of the Vice President and National Vice Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Hajia Nana Shettima; the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure; and delegates from the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

The Green Nigeria Challenge is one of the flagship programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative, designed to encourage environmental conservation, beautification and the creation of healthier living environments across Nigeria.
