Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has thanked family members, guests, political associates, traditional rulers and other well-wishers for their support during the marriage celebrations of his son, Innocent Oborevwori, and Tobore Arigbodi.
The governor spoke after a thanksgiving service at Living Faith Church on Ibusa Road in Asaba.
He attributed the success of the traditional marriage, church wedding, reception and thanksgiving to God’s grace.
Oborevwori said the families were grateful for favorable weather, safety and journey mercies for guests who travelled from different parts of Nigeria and abroad.
He described the turnout at the ceremonies as remarkable.
The governor prayed that the newly married couple would enjoy a peaceful, prosperous and enduring marriage.
Bride’s father Brodericks Arigbodi also expressed gratitude for the successful ceremonies.
He said the traditional marriage was held in Isiokolo on August 26 and described the wedding as the beginning of a new chapter for the couple.
Arigbodi urged the newlyweds to make their faith a central foundation of their marriage.
He said commitment, patience and Christian values would help them build a stable home.
During the thanksgiving service, Pastor Samuel Johns preached on personal responsibility for health and spiritual faith.
He also offered prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in Nigeria.
The thanksgiving brought the series of wedding events to a formal close.
