Oborevwori Celebrates Senator Joel-Onowakpo on 59th Birthday

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has extended warm congratulations to Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, who represents the Delta South Senatorial District, on the occasion of his 59th birthday, describing him as a committed public servant whose contributions to Delta State and the National Assembly had consistently advanced the interests of his constituents and the broader development of the state.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor acknowledged the senator’s extensive track record in public service, which included tenures as Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council and Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue. The governor noted that in both roles, the senator had distinguished himself through initiatives that significantly improved revenue generation and strengthened the financial foundations of the state.

Oborevwori also commended the senator’s legislative contributions at the National Assembly, expressing particular appreciation for his service as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, a role in which he had advanced policies supporting Nigerian businesses and workers in the oil and gas sector. The governor further praised the senator’s role in the passage of the Nigerian Maritime University Okerenkoko Establishment Act, describing it as a significant legislative milestone for the state and the broader maritime development agenda of the Niger Delta region.
