Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has accused the Federal Government of deliberately frustrating his businesses and personal activities, alleging that he is being systematically targeted because of his opposition political stance.
Obi claimed that the pressure being mounted against him had reached an alarming level, warning that the situation could pose a threat to his well-being if it continued.
Speaking on the alleged intimidation, the former Anambra State governor said virtually every aspect of his livelihood was being disrupted by actions he attributed to the government.
“The way they’re going now, I might not even be alive soon. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it… deliberately so,” Obi said.
He alleged that although the government had not openly declared its actions against him, its influence was evident in what he described as coordinated efforts to undermine him and other members of the opposition.
“The government is attacking me personally. They won’t come directly and say we’re doing this, but you could see their hands in everything, attacking everyone who is in the opposition party,” he stated.
Obi further claimed that he had been denied benefits and entitlements that should ordinarily be available to him.
“They’re not even providing me with things I should be entitled to,” he added.
The former presidential candidate has repeatedly accused the administration of intolerance toward opposition voices, while the Federal Government has consistently denied allegations of political persecution, maintaining that its actions are guided by the rule of law.
