They and Databank has recorded more than 410,000 digitized academic submissions while its National Credential Verification Service has processed over 115,000 academic qualifications.
The latest data also show that 907 tertiary institutions have enrolled on the platform, with 629 currently active.
NERD is intended to provide a central digital system for preserving academic research, improving access to scholarly work and authenticating qualifications issued by Nigerian institutions.
The repository includes universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions.
Of the 907 institutions enrolled, 259 are universities, 163 polytechnics, 179 monotechnics, 178 colleges of education and about 130 fall into other categories.
The database also includes more than 2,000 faculties and 9,600 departments.
Universities with substantial submissions include the University of Benin, Ahmadu Bello University, Ekiti State University, the University of Calabar and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Polytechnics including Kwara State Polytechnic, Kaduna Polytechnic, Auchi Polytechnic, Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and Federal Polytechnic Nekede have also recorded significant participation.
Undergraduate research dominates the platform.
As of September 4, undergraduate submissions stood at 409,456 compared with 1,563 postgraduate works.
Female students accounted for 228,347 submissions, compared with 181,536 attributed to male students, while 77 were uncategorized.
Students aged 25 to 29 formed the largest contributor group, followed by those between 20 and 24.
The repository spans research in science, technology, social sciences, humanities, law and education and could provide policymakers with a broader picture of the research priorities of Nigerian students.
The credential-verification component assigns National Credential Numbers to authenticated qualifications and is increasingly being used by employers, government institutions and other organizations that need to confirm academic records.
Government is positioning the platform as part of a wider drive to digitize education, strengthen research integrity and connect academic work more directly to national development.
