Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has set a target of two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, unveiling a 525-member campaign council to coordinate mobilization across the state.
At the inauguration, Bago said the party would organize supporters from polling units through wards and local government areas. He urged campaign officials to highlight government projects and economic policies while avoiding rhetoric capable of inflaming tensions.
The governor also announced plans to open a North Central campaign office in Minna. Minister of Information Mohammed Idris called for party unity and encouraged the council to campaign on the administration’s record.
Campaign director-general Ahmed Musa Ibeto pledged coordinated planning, grassroots engagement and compliance with applicable electoral rules.
The vote figure is a political target, not a forecast. Whether the party can meet it will depend on voter registration, turnout, public opinion and the credibility of the electoral process.
