President Bola Tinubu says the infrastructure his government is delivering in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond is laying the groundwork for national prosperity, promising that no community would be overlooked.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the inauguration of the first phase of the Kuje-Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway in Abuja, the President shouldered responsibility for the pain caused by his reforms while insisting they were meant to yield lasting gains.

He acknowledged the toughness of the reforms but appealed to Nigerians to stay the course and back the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the kind of progress visible along the road was being repeated nationwide.

For years, he noted, the route had been treacherous, costing traders time, goods and occasionally their lives. The new seven kilometer carriageway, fitted with solar street lighting, walkways and drainage, amounted to far more than tarmac, he said, calling it a matter of security, commerce and dignity.

Tinubu thanked FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for carrying development to the suburbs and urged residents to guard the road and meet their tax and ground rent obligations. Wike said the administration consulted communities when choosing projects, while Minister of State Mariya Mahmoud expressed the gratitude of satellite town residents.
