The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association has released the list of members who voted in the association’s recently concluded national election, sorted by branch, in compliance with the bar’s constitution.

In a memo dated July 19, 2026, signed by committee chairman Aham Ejelam and secretary Ibrahim Aliyu Nasarawa, the committee said the publication fulfils its obligation under Part V of the NBA Constitution, which requires the list of voters from each branch to be published and transmitted to all candidates within twelve hours of the close of voting. The list includes the names and branch affiliation of members who voted, along with total voter figures per branch and nationally, though certain personal details were redacted in line with data privacy requirements.

The committee said the publication reaffirms its commitment to transparency and accountability in administering the election, which concluded over the weekend with the election of Oyinkansola Badejo Okusanya as the association’s first female president elected directly to the role.

A notable female legal practitioner, Priscilla Olabori Kuye, had previously served as NBA president between 1991 and 1992 after ascending from first vice president when then President Clement Akpamgbo was appointed Attorney General of the Federation under the administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. Kuye, a longtime advocate for a female NBA president, remains a life member of the Body of Benchers.

Badejo Okusanya, elected at the association’s 2026 poll held between July 18 and 19, becomes the 33rd president of the umbrella body for Nigerian lawyers, and only the second woman to hold the office, following an election that was closely and intensely contested.
