Former Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has accepted his appointment as Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
Matawalle expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as a call to greater service, responsibility and sacrifice.
In a statement, Matawalle said he was honoured to be selected for another national campaign assignment and pledged to bring his experience and strategic knowledge to the task.
“I accept this responsibility with humility, gratitude and a deep sense of duty. I am truly honoured to be called upon to serve once again in an assignment of such national importance,” he said.
Matawalle recalled his role in the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council, where he served as Zonal Coordinator for the North-West and worked across the seven states in the region in support of Tinubu’s presidential bid.
He said the experience had prepared him for the responsibilities of his new assignment and pledged to redouble his efforts ahead of the 2027 election.
“As I return to the Security and Intelligence Standing Committee, I will redouble my efforts, deepen my commitment and bring greater energy, experience, and strategic thinking to the task ahead,” he said.
Matawalle also highlighted his continued support for the Tinubu administration since the 2023 election, noting that he founded the Tinubu Again Movement to promote the administration’s policies, programmes and achievements across the country.
He expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for giving him another opportunity to contribute to the party’s presidential campaign.
The former governor pledged to work closely with the Director-General and other members of the campaign council, stressing the need for unity and professionalism in achieving the party’s objectives.
“I will give this assignment my very best and remain focused on the collective objective of securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the All Progressives Congress in 2027,” he said.
Matawalle assured the party leadership that he would justify the confidence placed in him through dedication, diligence and measurable results.
“I am ready for the task. I accept the appointment fully and will redouble my efforts to ensure that the confidence reposed in me is justified by results,” he added.
