Former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami has inaugurated a campaign council of more than 600 members for the African Democratic Congress in Kebbi State.
The event in Birnin Kebbi marked the beginning of a new phase of mobilization across the state’s 21 local government areas.
Malami said the council had been designed as a coordinated structure supporting the collective campaigns of ADC candidates.
He said membership was drawn from different communities, senatorial districts and backgrounds.
According to the former minister, the objective was to reflect Kebbi’s diversity and ensure broad participation.
Malami warned members against tribalism, sectional rivalry and internal competition.
He said the council should operate as one political family rather than as separate groups loyal to individual candidates.
The structure is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilization for governorship, legislative and other ADC campaigns in the state.
Malami said the appointments were intended to create an organized network rather than simply distribute political titles.
The large council reflects the party’s effort to build statewide structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
Its effectiveness will depend on internal cohesion, grassroots mobilization and coordination among candidates.
