The Lagos State University (LASU) has welcomed Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as its 10th substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Badejo officially assumed office on Monday, September 21, 2026, becoming the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the university.
Her assumption of office marks the beginning of a new administration at LASU, with the university expressing confidence that her leadership will build on the achievements of previous administrations while pursuing new initiatives in growth, innovation and academic excellence.
The university said the new Vice-Chancellor would lead efforts to advance its core mandates of teaching, research, innovation and community service.
In a statement, LASU Management, Senate, staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders welcomed Badejo and expressed their expectation of a new chapter of purposeful leadership and institutional development.
The university wished the new Vice-Chancellor a successful tenure marked by meaningful impact and notable accomplishments.
