Lagos, Ogun Police Rescue Five Kidnap Victims, Neutralise Four Suspects in Joint Operation

The Lagos State Police Command has announced a major breakthrough in its ongoing anti-kidnapping campaign, with the rescue of five kidnapped victims and the neutralisation of four suspected kidnappers during a joint operation with the Ogun State Police Command.

The operation, conducted under the newly launched Operation KO S’AYE, was carried out within 48 hours of the initiative’s commencement and targeted criminal hideouts along the forest boundary between Lagos and Ogun states.

According to the police, operatives combed the J3/J4 axis of Ogbere in Ogun State, where they successfully rescued the five victims held in captivity.

During the operation, security personnel engaged suspected kidnappers in a gun battle, leading to the death of four suspects, while four others were arrested.

The police also arrested an additional 84 suspects for various criminal offences during the coordinated security sweep.

Items recovered from the operation included arms, ammunition, and other incriminating exhibits, which the police said would aid ongoing investigations and prosecution.

The Lagos State Police Command described the operation as a significant milestone in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes, noting that it reflects the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and inter-state collaboration.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that kidnappers and other criminal elements have no safe haven, stressing that sustained security operations and intelligence-driven strategies will continue to be deployed to safeguard lives and property across the country.
