The Independent National Electoral Commission has published Kefas Wungak Ropshik as the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for Plateau State in the 2027 election.
The publication provides the commission’s current official record after weeks of competing claims within the state chapter of the PDP.
The INEC document lists Ropshik as the candidate submitted under the party platform.
The development is significant because different tendencies within the Plateau PDP had circulated competing claims over the governorship ticket.
Ropshik had previously urged supporters to remain calm and allow the electoral process to determine the issue.
Following INEC’s publication, he said the development supported his position that the commission’s formal record should be allowed to speak for itself.
He said his campaign would now focus on voters and the wider contest for the governorship.
The publication does not necessarily prevent any aggrieved party member from pursuing lawful internal or judicial remedies where available.
However, it establishes the candidate currently recognized by INEC for electoral purposes.
The dispute illustrates the growing importance of formal nomination records as political parties move from primary elections into full 2027 campaign preparations.
