Governor Alia Condemns Ayilamo Attack, Mourns Four Police Officers

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has condemned the deadly attack on Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area, which claimed the lives of several residents, including four police officers.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia described the incident as a disturbing reminder of the persistent insecurity and recurring attacks targeting vulnerable communities and security personnel in the area.

The governor commiserated with the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, over the death of the four officers, whom he said paid the supreme price in the service of the nation.

Alia also commended the Department of State Services (DSS), particularly its personnel in Benue and Nasarawa states, for the prompt and professional operation that led to the arrest of three suspects allegedly linked to the Ayilamo attack.

He described the arrests as a significant step towards uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.

The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to work closely with security agencies to strengthen security in Ayilamo, Logo and other vulnerable communities across Benue State.

He further assured the people of Ayilamo and residents across the state that his administration would not abandon them, pledging continued efforts to protect lives and property.
