Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has been returned as the Accord Party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections after affirmation primaries conducted across several states of the federation produced a total of 423,902 affirmative votes in his favour.
Hashim ran uncontested in the affirmation exercise, which was conducted to allow party members to formally endorse his candidacy through a democratic ratification process. Party officials described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the confidence members had in his leadership and vision.
A breakdown of results showed that Jigawa State recorded the highest figure with 198,200 votes, followed by Kano State with 124,101 votes. Nasarawa State delivered 47,309 votes, Kebbi State returned 46,852 votes, Lagos State recorded 4,548 votes, and Kwara State contributed 3,348 votes.
Supporters described the outcome as a strong signal of the party’s readiness to build a national campaign ahead of the general election and expressed confidence that the Accord Party would offer Nigerians a credible alternative to the established parties.
