Former Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Isa Yuguda, has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he had died, assuring Nigerians that he is alive and in good health.
Speaking over the weekend, Yuguda said the rumours caused widespread concern among family members, associates and supporters, particularly in Bauchi State, many of whom contacted him to verify the report.
The former governor explained that he had recently undergone surgery to address a back-related medical condition but was recovering well.
“I am alive. I assure you that I am in good health,” he said.
Yuguda acknowledged that he had been ill but stressed that his health had improved significantly following treatment.
He disclosed that doctors advised him to limit public activities and remain at home during the recovery period after the surgery.
According to him, age-related complications affecting the vertebrae can result from prolonged sitting and, if untreated, may lead to severe health challenges.
The former governor expressed gratitude to God for his recovery and thanked Nigerians for their concern and prayers following the false reports of his death.
