FG Inaugurates Governing Boards, Key Officials in Education Sector

The Federal Government has inaugurated chairmen and members of governing boards across key agencies under the Federal Ministry of Education, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional governance and accelerate ongoing reforms in the sector.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, announced the development on Wednesday, noting that the exercise also included the inauguration of principal officers of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship, Bama, as well as the rector of the Federal Polytechnic N’Yak Shendam.

The minister further confirmed the reappointment of chief executive officers of several education parastatals, describing the move as a strategic step toward ensuring continuity and stability in the administration of the sector.

Alausa said the appointments reflect the government’s commitment to improving governance structures, deepening reforms, and driving transformation across Nigeria’s education system.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support for education under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the administration’s policies are focused on delivering quality and inclusive education nationwide.

Addressing the newly appointed and reappointed officials, the minister emphasised the importance of accountability, integrity, and collaboration in executing their responsibilities.

He added that the ongoing reforms, anchored on the ministry’s NESRI six-point agenda, aim to create a system that guarantees safe, equitable, and high-quality learning opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of background or location.

The inauguration marks another step in the federal government’s broader efforts to reposition the education sector to meet global standards and national development goals.
