FAAN Set to Launch New Airport Car Hire Management System July 1

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has begun consultations with airport car hire operators ahead of the introduction of a new Airport Car Hire Rank Management System (ACHRAMS), which is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026.

The stakeholder engagement forms part of preparations for the rollout of the technology-driven platform aimed at improving the management of car hire services across FAAN-operated airports.

Speaking during a meeting with operators, FAAN’s Director of Commercial and Business Development, Mrs. Joy Agunbiade, disclosed that arrangements for the implementation of the system had been concluded. She added that training and sensitization programmes for stakeholders would be completed before the end of June to ensure readiness for the transition.

According to Agunbiade, the Airport Car Hire Rank Management System is designed to enhance operational efficiency, boost revenue generation, reduce loitering around airport arrival terminals, and provide passengers with quicker and more convenient access to car hire services.

She urged all registered car hire operators to complete their registration and application processes ahead of the launch date, emphasizing the importance of cooperation from stakeholders to ensure a seamless implementation.

FAAN stated that the initiative reflects its commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery, strengthen airport operations, and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers using Nigeria’s airports.

The Authority expressed confidence that the new system would contribute to a more organized and efficient airport environment while supporting its broader modernization and service improvement objectives.
