President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to draw inspiration from the teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The President’s message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled, “Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Imbibe Virtues of Prophet Muhammad.”
Tinubu urged Muslims to use the occasion not only to commemorate the birth of the Prophet but also as an opportunity for introspection, prayer and reflection on the values he exemplified.
He specifically encouraged the faithful to uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and apply them in their daily lives.
According to the President, virtues such as devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness remain essential to building a peaceful and harmonious society.
“There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet,” Tinubu said.
The President also urged Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and encourage their followers to translate the lessons of the Prophet’s life into greater commitment to national unity, peace and development.
He called on Muslims to extend compassion and support to the less privileged, particularly vulnerable members of society, in keeping with the spirit of the Maulud celebration.
Tinubu further appealed for prayers for an end to insecurity and other challenges confronting communities across the country.
He urged Nigerians to remain committed to peaceful coexistence, unity and the collective pursuit of national development.
