Delta Governor Oborevwori Marks Three Years with Debt-Free Infrastructure Drive and Thanksgiving Service

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori marked the third anniversary of his administration with a thanksgiving and praise service in Asaba, crediting the state’s development progress over the past three years to divine guidance and prudent financial management, and declaring that every infrastructure project undertaken by his administration had been backed by available funds without a single kobo borrowed.

Speaking at the Dome Event Centre in Asaba before an audience of political leaders, government officials, clergy, traditional rulers, and residents, Oborevwori said the occasion was an opportunity to appreciate God for faithfulness and guidance across three eventful years. He acknowledged the contributions of former governors Chief James Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for laying foundations upon which his administration continued to build, and praised his Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, members of the Delta State House of Assembly led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and other stakeholders for their contributions.

He said the administration had executed projects across the state without borrowing and had consistently discharged obligations to contractors. He described peace as the foundation of development and investment, commending all security agencies for maintaining law and order in what he said remained one of Nigeria’s leading oil-producing states in terms of attracting investment.

The sermon was delivered by renowned cleric Apostle Joshua Selman, who identified seven biblical keys to sustained progress including abiding in faith, pursuing greater knowledge, exercising courage and humility, building strategic relationships, and maintaining a lifestyle of gratitude. He commended the governor’s commitment to project delivery.

Gospel artists including Dunsin Oyekan, Moses Bliss, Asu Ekiye, Solomon Urete, M and Revelation, Jerry Ekpekuro, and Solo Kings provided praise ministrations. Former governors Ibori and Okowa, Speaker Guwor, and senators Joel-Onowakpo Thomas and Ede Dafinone were among the dignitaries present.
