Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Nigeria has welcomed Nigerian music star David Adeleke into his political campaign structure, appointing him Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council Committee for the 2026 elections.
The governor announced the development on Tuesday, describing the award-winning artiste as a key mobiliser with the influence and energy needed to galvanise young voters across the state.
Adeleke said Davido, who previously supported his campaign efforts, would play a strategic role in engaging the youth population as the administration seeks to sustain its “Imole” continuity agenda.
“David brings the energy, influence, and passion needed to mobilise and inspire our vibrant youth population,” the governor said.
He highlighted his administration’s achievements over the past three years, noting that policies and programmes had been implemented to support youth development across multiple sectors in the state.
The governor also reassured residents of his commitment to their welfare, promising to prioritise policies that promote prosperity and protect citizens’ interests.
“I assure every citizen of Osun State of our unwavering commitment to your welfare and prosperity. We will continue to put you first at all times,” he added.
Davido’s appointment is expected to boost youth engagement in the lead-up to the 2026 elections, as the administration intensifies efforts to consolidate support across key demographics.
