President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), Aliko Dangote, has praised the Federal Government’s economic reform programme, describing it as a bold and transformative initiative that is helping to restore investor confidence and reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth.
Dangote said the fiscal, monetary and regulatory reforms introduced by the administration were beginning to produce positive results, including improved macroeconomic stability, increased industrial productivity and a stronger business environment.
According to a statement issued by the Dangote Group, the billionaire industrialist said the early gains from the reforms underscore the importance of maintaining consistent, market-driven policies to support long-term economic development.
“The economic reforms being implemented by the federal government are beginning to yield tangible results. We are witnessing improved economic activity, stronger investor confidence, increased industrial productivity, and a more resilient business environment,” Dangote said.
“These measures are laying a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and long-term prosperity for Nigeria.”
He noted that the reforms had created a more enabling environment for businesses, particularly in the manufacturing and industrial sectors, which he identified as critical drivers of economic diversification, job creation, foreign exchange earnings and global competitiveness.
Dangote also commended government efforts aimed at improving operational efficiency, attracting investment, promoting transparency and encouraging local production, saying such measures were providing a strong platform for sustained industrial expansion.
“We commend the federal government for its courage and determination in implementing reforms that are essential for economic transformation,” he said.
“While every reform process comes with initial challenges, the benefits are increasingly evident in stronger economic indicators, improved business confidence, and renewed investor interest in Nigeria.”
The business magnate further highlighted the role of the policy environment in supporting the growth and operations of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex, Africa’s largest integrated refining and petrochemical facility.
According to him, policies aimed at boosting local refining capacity, reducing reliance on imported petroleum products, enhancing energy security and promoting value addition have contributed significantly to the refinery’s progress and Nigeria’s broader economic objectives.
“The progress being recorded at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex is closely linked to a policy environment that encourages investment, supports domestic industrialisation, and promotes self-sufficiency,” the statement quoted him as saying.
“These reforms are helping Nigerian businesses to plan with greater certainty, invest with confidence, and compete effectively on the global stage.”
Dangote stated that the refinery’s increasing production capacity and growing export activities were supporting Nigeria’s economic recovery through enhanced foreign exchange earnings, job creation and stronger local supply chains.
He added that the development is helping position Nigeria as a leading energy and manufacturing hub in Africa while reducing dependence on imported refined petroleum products.
Reaffirming the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s economic agenda, Dangote said Dangote Industries Limited would continue investing in strategic sectors of the economy, promoting innovation, driving industrial development and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
“Our vision has always been to support Nigeria’s economic development through transformative investments. Today, we are witnessing how the combination of private-sector commitment and decisive government policies can unlock unprecedented opportunities for national growth,” he said.
“The refinery, petrochemical operations, fertiliser production, and our other industrial investments are helping to build a more self-reliant, competitive, and prosperous economy.”
Dangote’s remarks come amid ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to stabilise the economy, attract investment and accelerate industrial growth through a series of market-oriented reforms aimed at boosting productivity and long-term economic resilience.
