Dangote Cement Reports 638.5 Billion Naira Profit as Exports Grow 62 Percent

Dangote Cement Plc has reported a 22.7 percent rise in profit after tax to 638.5 billion naira for the first half of 2026, alongside a 62.3 percent increase in cement and clinker exports from Nigeria to 1.1 million tons, reinforcing the country’s position as a regional manufacturing hub.

The company said it dispatched 20 clinker shipments from Nigeria to Ghana, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire during the period, reflecting rising demand across West Africa. Unaudited results showed group revenue rose 21.4 percent to 2.514 trillion naira, while group EBITDA rose 25.8 percent to 1.188 trillion naira, with overall volumes growing 11.8 percent to 14.9 million tons. Nigeria continued to anchor earnings, with domestic EBITDA rising 28.4 percent to 1.086 trillion naira and margins improving to 60.1 percent, supported by a more favorable energy mix and new logistics investments including a mobile refueling unit in Okpella and 300 compressed natural gas trucks deployed in Tanzania.

Chief Executive Arvind Pathak said the results reflect strong momentum built since the start of the year, supported by disciplined execution and sustained demand across key markets, crediting the company’s export strategy for the growth in regional shipments. He said construction of the company’s new plant in Itori is at an advanced stage and expected to be completed before year end, strengthening the company’s production footprint and supporting its long term ambition of reaching 80 million tonnes of installed capacity by 2030.
