Atiku Launches ‘Ask AA’ Portal to Foster Direct Engagement With Nigerians

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has launched “Ask AA,” a citizen-engagement and information portal designed to provide Nigerians with direct access to him and his policy proposals ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The platform, which went live at 8:30 p.m. on October 15, 2026, allows Nigerians to submit questions on a wide range of issues, including the economy, security, technology, job creation, and his plans to improve living standards across the country.

According to the campaign, Atiku will personally respond to selected questions submitted through the portal, while members of his media team will also assist in providing responses to inquiries from citizens.

The ADC described the technology-driven platform as an initiative aimed at bridging the information gap between voters and the party’s presidential candidate by providing easy access to his policy positions, public service record, and vision for Nigeria.

Speaking on the initiative, Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, said the portal was created to strengthen engagement between Atiku and the electorate.

“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” Shaibu said.

He added that the initiative reflects Atiku’s commitment to deploying modern technology to improve governance, enhance efficiency, and promote accountability.

The campaign also disclosed plans to introduce a radio-based interface to enable participation from communities with limited internet access.

Announcing the launch on his social media platforms, Atiku said the idea behind Ask AA stemmed from his belief that effective leadership requires continuous dialogue between leaders and citizens.

He argued that governance has often appeared distant from ordinary Nigerians and stressed the need to break down barriers between public officials and the people they serve.

According to him, the platform is built around the principles of transparency, accountability, and open communication, providing citizens with an opportunity to ask questions, challenge policies, and contribute ideas for national development.

Atiku also revealed that he intends to personally speak with selected users who provide their contact details, saying the conversations would give him firsthand insight into the experiences and concerns of Nigerians.

“A transparent, technology-driven government is not a promise for tomorrow. It begins with how we listen to you today,” he said.

The launch of Ask AA marks the latest effort by the ADC candidate to leverage digital technology in expanding public engagement and fostering direct interaction with voters across the country.
