A Contact and Mobilisation Committee supporting the governorship ambition of Senator Shehu Buba Umar has announced the successful mobilisation of N50 million to procure the All Progressives Congress governorship nomination form for the lawmaker ahead of the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State.
The announcement was made at a press briefing in Bauchi by the committee chairman, Muhammadu Sade, who described the fundraising achievement as far more than a financial milestone, characterizing it as a collective and symbolic expression of confidence in the senator’s leadership capacity and his suitability to govern Bauchi State.
Sade, who delivered his address through the committee’s secretary, Mukhtar Abubakar, said the decision to back Senator Buba’s gubernatorial ambition had followed extensive consultations and a comprehensive evaluation of the state’s political landscape by key party stakeholders and supporters.
He described the senator as a credible and people-oriented leader whose legislative track record and commitment to the welfare of Bauchi citizens made him the right candidate to drive sustainable development, economic growth, and meaningful improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
“This gesture is far more than a financial contribution; it is a symbolic vote of confidence. It reflects our absolute belief in the Senator’s leadership capacity, his proven legislative track record, and his profound commitment to the welfare of the people of Bauchi State,” Sade said.
The committee called on APC members, youth organizations, and the general public to unite behind the senator’s candidacy, assuring the party’s national leadership that the endorsement emerged from a transparent and inclusive process that genuinely reflected the will of the party’s grassroots. It pledged to work toward a new Bauchi built on integrity, accountability, and governance that served all citizens regardless of background.
