President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to officially receive the certificate of return and the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday after securing a commanding victory in the party’s 2027 presidential primary election.
The ceremony will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja following the completion of the nationwide collation of primary election results.
Early figures released from several states showed the President recording an overwhelming lead in the contest, reinforcing his emergence as the APC’s standard bearer for the 2027 presidential race. The final nationwide vote tally is expected to be announced during the event.
A statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that the ceremony will be attended by APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, federal lawmakers and other senior party leaders.
The presentation of the party’s flag and certificate is expected to mark the formal commencement of Tinubu’s re-election campaign as the ruling party intensifies preparations ahead of the next general election.
The event is also being viewed within party circles as a major demonstration of unity and support for the President as the APC positions itself for another fiercely contested national poll.
