The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved an extension of the timelines for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The extension was announced on Thursday in Abuja by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Durosinmi Meseko, following a meeting of the NWC at the party’s national secretariat.
According to him, the sale of forms, which was initially scheduled to end on May 2, 2026, will now close at midnight on May 4, 2026. He added that the deadline for the submission of completed forms and accompanying documents has also been shifted from May 4 to midnight on May 5, 2026.
Meseko explained that the decision to extend the timelines was necessitated by the public holiday observed nationwide on Friday, as well as the high level of interest shown by aspirants seeking to contest under the party’s platform.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, at its meeting held on Thursday, approved an extension of the timelines for the sale of aspirants’ Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, as well as the submission of completed forms for the 2027 General Elections,” he said.
The development is expected to provide additional time for prospective candidates to complete necessary documentation and participate in the party’s nomination process.
