APC Aspirant Haske Mobilizes 50,000 for Adamawa Governorship Declaration

All arrangements have been concluded for the formal declaration of Abdulrahman Bashir Haske’s 2027 gubernatorial ambition in Adamawa State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, with a declaration rally scheduled for Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola expected to draw approximately 50,000 supporters, political stakeholders, and party officials from across the state and beyond.

The event, described by political analysts as one of the most significant political gatherings in Adamawa State in recent years, will also feature a formal endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term, reinforcing the political alignment between Haske’s emerging campaign and the broader objectives of the ruling party at the national level.

Central to the declaration will be the public unveiling of Haske’s governing blueprint, the Adamawa A.R.I.S.E. Agenda, built around five pillars: Accountable Governance, Resilient Economy, Inclusive Infrastructure, Sustainable Environment and Social Development, and Every Life Protected through improved security. The agenda was framed as a direct response to Adamawa’s most pressing challenges, including a 75.4 percent poverty rate, an 87 percent dependence on federal allocations, and persistently high youth unemployment.

At 36, Haske brings a background rooted in entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and expanding influence within APC structures rather than the conventional pathway of career politics. Political analysts noted that his emergence reflected a growing appetite, particularly among younger voters, for fresh, economically grounded leadership capable of bridging the gap between political power and practical competence.

In the weeks leading to the declaration, his candidacy attracted a wave of endorsements. During the recently concluded APC congresses, prominent party leaders publicly identified him as their preferred governorship aspirant. On April 22, 2026, 265 women’s groups across all local government areas formally endorsed his candidacy, citing his consistent philanthropic engagement with communities through agricultural input distribution, food support programmes, and Ramadan outreach for vulnerable households.

Organized advocacy groups including the Renew Team for Unity, Progress and Initiative Forum and the Making Adamawa Great Again movement also pledged their full backing, while the Yoro community of Ganye Chiefdom formally endorsed his campaign.
