Akpoti-Uduaghan Honours Nigerian Fathers on Father’s Day, Calls Them Nation’s Unsung Heroes

Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has paid tribute to Nigerian fathers on Father’s Day, describing them as the unsung architects of family stability and national social cohesion whose contributions to raising responsible children and sustaining households under difficult economic and social conditions were rarely adequately acknowledged in public discourse.

In a statement, she said fathers provided leadership, protection, guidance, and support that shaped children’s values and by extension shaped the moral fabric of communities and the country. She said the influence of responsible fatherhood extended well beyond the household and contributed directly to the prospect of a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria, and urged fathers to remain committed to their responsibilities as role models whose example and discipline left lasting impressions on the generations they raised.

She paid particular tribute to fathers in Kogi Central and across Kogi State, saying their sacrifices, though often private and unrecognized, were deeply appreciated and foundational to the communities they sustained.
